The day we showed Lucy her new house!!!!

Casa Syndeo in Nuevo Laredo, MexicoThe vision for Syndeo Discipleship School (SDS) began while Hannah was still in prison. And soon after her release, Hannah began going back to the prisons to visit those she had left behind. Every month, the Syndeo Team would visit women throughout the weekend.
Then COVID-19 hit, and no visitation was allowed. In addition, the law changed for women who were scheduled to be paroled, but who had been born in Mexico. They were now being deported directly to Mexico. Even if they were accepted into Christian discipleship schools, like Syndeo's, the new law meant that these women would be sent directly back to Mexico. We thought they would go to intermediate detention centers, since that was the information we had received. But when our friend Lucy was released, she was immediately taken to Mexico, and dropped off on the other side of the border. We wrote her story up in one of our newsletters, and you can check it out here. Besides Lucy, we know other women who will be in this same situation. And it is a very unsafe and unfamiliar circumstance. Especially since many of these women spent the majority of their lives in the States. And most don't even know if any of their family members are alive. God put it on our hearts to create a place of safety and discipleship for these women. And He opened the doors to do just that. Regalos de Amor, a ministry located in Nuevo Laredo, has partnered with us to make this vision a reality. We can't be more grateful for all of their hard work. Recently, we were able to rent a house in Nuevo Laredo. And Lucy moved in. We've been thrilled to have the opportunity to go to Mexico and to participate in this very exciting plan of God. |
