Syndeo Discipleship School
Tell Us More...
The Syndeo Ministries Team moved onto Syndeo Ranch about 5 years ago, living in the main house while renovating it and beginning the construction on the bunkhouse. The vision for Syndeo Discipleship School (SDS) began while Hannah was still in prison. God had begun a ministry with Bible Studies in the prison where Hannah was, and that Bible Study program continues today with almost 1000 women participating at various times.
But the ministry vision doesn't stop there! God showed Hannah and the rest of the team His heart for the women...and that included a safe place for them to go home to. The Syndeo Ministries team has been preparing for this school since the beginning. And we are so excited about all that God is doing! When we were working on the curriculum, we were actually surprised at how easily it came together. God guided us in the selection of all of the courses. Plus, He is bringing together a team of God-loving leaders to mentor and disciple the women who will participate in the school. It is so neat to watch Him move. Because it is all Him. In His timing, He is bringing it all about. Please keep us in your prayers. Our desire at every step is to follow God’s direction, to be filled with His heart of love, and to fulfill the vision He began.
During this first year, we will limit the number of women to about 8-10. We want to start smaller so that each lady can get more one on one discipleship time. Plus, a small number will be better as we "work out the kinks." Our hope is that some of these first students will choose to stay on as mentors for the classes that will follow.
The first students will live in the main house until the bunkhouse is completed. The Overtons and Debi have recently moved off of Syndeo Ranch and onto our Phase Two property we are calling the Syndeo Family Center. It is a beautiful 15-acre location that will house staff. And, it's the location of our offices. Some of the classes will take place there too. At the moment, we also hold our church services there in our office/multipurpose room. But it won't be long until we outgrow the space in the office. So there are definitely plans to build a church building once the bunkhouse is completed.
We believe that God has good plans for all of our lives, and for each and every women who will be a part of SDS. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Syndeo Discipleship School (SDS) is located on Syndeo Ranch in the piney woods of East Texas. We are a Christian organization with the desire to “Remember those in prison as if we were bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being ourselves also in the body.” (Hebrews 13:3) The SDS team is dedicated to aftercare, training and discipleship. Our discipleship program is one year in length, and is filled with power-packed courses consisting of Bible Study, counseling, classroom instruction, practical applications, and ministry involvement.

Construction UpdateWhere are we at in the construction of the bunkhouse? Just recently, a team from Calvary Coastlands painted the inside. There is still a bit of painting to be completed on both the inside and outside. Some framing was also just done in the bathrooms to prepare for the plumbing. Plus, as soon as the painting is finished, the electrical fixtures will be placed. The bunks still need to be built, as well as everything for the studio apartment for the school mentors or interns.
The bunkhouse will house 24 women. And the aerobic septic system required for that many women will be quite intricate and costly. We don't have the funds yet for the system, so we plan to work on the other areas until we are able to finance that project. If you are interested in working with us to finish the bunkhouse, we would be thrilled to have you. |

SYNDEO (Greek) Bound with them
This word has two meanings: 1. bound in chains; to a prisoner, as a prisoner 2. bound, connected in heart, as all believers should be |
