Syndeo Discipleship School

Tell Us More...

Picture
The vision for Syndeo Discipleship School (SDS) began while Hannah was still in prison. God had begun a ministry with Bible Studies in the prison where Hannah was, and that Bible Study  program  continues today with over 1000 women participating at various times.

But the ministry vision  doesn't stop there! God showed Hannah and the rest of the team His heart for the women...and that included a safe place for them to go home to.

The Syndeo Ministries  team has been preparing for this school since the beginning, and in 2016, moved onto Syndeo Ranch, living for 5 years in the main house while renovating it and beginning the bunkhouse.

We are so excited about all that God is doing! When we were working on the curriculum, we were actually surprised at how easily it came together. God guided us in the selection of all of the courses. Plus,  He is bringing together a team of God-loving leaders to mentor and disciple the women who
will participate in the school. It is so neat to watch Him move. Because it is all Him. In His timing, He has brought it all about.  Please keep us in your  prayers.  Our desire at every step is to follow God’s direction,  to be filled with His heart of love, to serve as He serves, and to fulfill the vision He began.

During the first two years, we limited the number of women to a maximum of 8-10. Starting smaller meant that each lady has been able to receive more one on one discipleship time. Plus, our vision has always been for some of the initial students to become mentors for those that will follow.

These first students are living in the main house, and are growing into their mentor positions, as they live and learn to follow Christ.  The bunkhouse is almost ready, so more students can be accepted.

The Overtons and Debi  moved from Syndeo Ranch to our Phase Two property in 2021.  We call it the Syndeo Family Center, and it's a beautiful 17-acre location that houses staff.  Some buildings are still in the construction phase, including a new ministry building that will include a large sanctuary and classrooms.

The Family Center is also the location of our offices and where our classes take place. And at the moment, we also hold our church services there in our office/multipurpose room. But we are outgrowing our current space and are in the process of building additional space. In fact, the foundation is laid and the exterior framing is complete.

We believe that God has  good plans for all of our lives, and for each and every woman who will be a part of SDS. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Syndeo Discipleship School (SDS) is located in the piney woods of East Texas. We are a Christian organization with the desire to “Remember those in prison as if we were bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being ourselves also in the body.” (Hebrews 13:3) The SDS team is dedicated to aftercare, training and discipleship. Our discipleship program is two years in length (with a one-year initial commitment), and is filled with power-packed courses consisting of Bible Study, counseling, classroom instruction, practical applications, and ministry involvement.

Construction Update

Where are we at in the construction of the bunkhouse?

The bunkhouse is almost complete! Some tiling remains, since there are so many bathrooms!

The outside of the bunkhouse needs another coat of paint. And then a punchlist of other items still needs to be completed.

If you are interested in working with us to finish the bunkhouse, we would be thrilled to have you.

SYNDEO  (Greek) Bound with them
This word has two meanings:
1. bound in chains; to a prisoner, as a prisoner
2. bound, connected in heart, as all believers should be
