Psalms 91- Finding Safety in God's Promises
Psalms 91-Finding Safety in God's Promises addresses the promises of safety and security we are privileged to have as God’s children.
We live in a dangerous world. While the symbols of danger used in this psalm are unfamiliar to us as Americans, we do know terrorist attacks, snipers, rampant and violent crime, reckless drivers, and epidemics. Natural disasters happen ever more frequently. And then, there are the unknown dangers of an uncertain future.
We are constantly bombarded with negative news of the violence and tragic circumstances that permeate our world. Our sense of peace and security can be shaken by all these dangers that are beyond our control.
Fear can cause a paralyzing reaction that keeps us from serving God and obeying His Word. Fear can entangle us and take us into bondage.
God does not want His people to live in fear. Instead, He wants us to remember the promises and faith-building truths in His Word, truths that will strengthen, equip and sustain us during these fearful times. He wants us to draw close and dwell under His loving protection.
May this study of Psalms 91 undergird you with truths that will establish you during difficult times.
